Business Ireland Southern Africa is the representative association for Southern African businesses with an interest in Ireland, it is supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through the Emigrant Support Programme working with the Embassy in Pretoria.     promotes the interests of its members, defined tentatively as to :-

    • Organize presentations, roundtable discussions, seminars and other networking activities. Since 2012 the Chapters organised many Business Breakfast meetings. It also co-operates with Enterprise Ireland in introducing Irish delagations to the membership and other interested organisation.

    • Actively collect and disseminate information for its Members in order to help them become familiar with market conditions and regulations of concern to them. Since 2012 the private member's database became available to all members..

    • Assist those considering becoming engaged in economic or business activity in Southern Africa – to act as a focal point to assist new entrants to the market.

    • Represent and assist its membership in economic and commercial issues concerning them, promoting measures which benefit and protect the interests of its Members and expressing its opinion on issues concerning its Members’ interests.

    • Maintain cordial relationships with various relevant Southern African and Irish organizations in order to promote the mutual benefit of all countries.

Membership is open to both lrish and Non-Irish business people with an interest and or an involvement in Ireland and Southern Africa.

Membership includes access, through the database, to the contact details of all other members of Business Ireland, from all Chapters. Easily found through the members private pages.

Chapters of

There are six Independent Chapters of Business Ireland, Four Chapters of Business Ireland Southern Africa (South Africa and Zimbabwe) , with the further the Chapters of Business Ireland Africa in Ireland and Business Ireland Kenya.

The Cape Town Chapter

       The Durban Chapter

The Johannesburg Chapter

       The Harare Chapter

The Kenya Association

Further Associations are now being considered in the other Southern African states of Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Mauritius (see their LinkedIn Group), Uganda and Zambia. Until details of these associations are available associate membership may be applied for through any Chapter.
